Thursday night, the usual clearance raid that Kam participates in is running (every Frost must go!). On the Lootship Battle, we are asked if we would like to swap in a guest who has killed the Lichen King and thus can unlock Heroic mode for us. It may be tough, but the loot is worth it, or that's what I thought anyway.
Nothing can be further from the truth. I can now say that Heroic Gunship is just exactly like normal Gunship. Maybe the mobs die a bit slower, but we had almost the same number of boardings and the whole thing went very smoothly and coughed up some nice loot. Such as this nice Heroic Frost Giant's Cleaver, which I could use to pose and epeen in, except that now everyone knows Heroic Lootship is easy, if they didn't already. I shall merely enchant and equip it and hope for more DPS.
Seriously, I'd even do it on Heroic in a pug.

Since Ex Obscurum transfered off my server, I have joined a 10 man casual guild who is still struggling with ToC and are just barley in ICC.
Last week we finally downed Lady Deathwhisper, and I could not convince the raid to push on to Gunship. For some reason people thought it would be beyond us. No mater how hard I tried convince Gunship was like LootReaver from BC days it was a no go. Hopefully we will hit it this week.
Indeed, In the semi-pug I run weekly (intended as a guild run, I usually end up bringing about 5 pugees), I've taken to rolling over all the other fights in normal mode, but still doing heroic lootship.
Much to my chagrin, I've wiped once on heroic lootship, because the ranged completely ignored one of the axe throwers, allowing him to enrage and one-shotting the healers and dps. :)
But indeed, as long as everyone does what they're supposed to, you can easily pug the heroic version one 10-man or 25-man without any difficulty at all.
